A sports pitch with third generation artificial turf technology is commonly known as a 3G pitch, this comprises of longer synthetic grass (40mm-60mm) than the older second generation (2G) pitches with infill which ensures that the turf fibres remain vertical and acts as a cushion during play to maximise safety. 3G pitches are ideal for football and rugby and have improved drastically over the years, our new high-tech woven systems are revolutionising 3G sports turf technology and pushing the boundaries from that of traditional tufting techniques.
Non-infill turf represents the next generation of artificial turf, featuring a simplified system design. Also known in some countries as 4G turf, it is specifically developed to address the growing global demand for environmentally friendly yet durable football turf systems. GreenFields' non-infill pitches are engineered to replicate the performance of high-quality natural grass, utilizing a performance thatch layer made from high-density, textured yarns that replace the infill typically used in 3G systems.

GreenFields is proud to announce a milestone achievement in sports infrastructure: the installation of the first-ever FIFA certified GreenFields Pure PT at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Curaçao. This new pitch sets a new benchmark for quality, performance, and sustainability. [22 Nov 2024]
The new pitch represents a significant advancement for football development in Curaçao. The FIFA certification ensures that players will benefit from an innovative playing surface that closely mimics high-quality natural grass, offering excellent ball behavior, superior grip, stability, and control.
GreenFields Pure PT made its competitive debut during two Concacaf Nations League matches, where Curaçao faced St. Martin and St. Lucia. These two decisive matches showcased both the national team’s skill and the outstanding performance of this first-ever FIFA certified GreenFields Pure PT pitch. Under the guidance of coach Dick Advocaat, the team secured promotion to the top division of the Concacaf Nations League and earned a spot in the 2025 Gold Cup.
